CCPS CTAE STEM Expo 2018 STEMulated by Mystemkits Exhibit
Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) serves almost 55,000 students ranked among the 100 largest school districts in the U.S. and is the fifth largest school system in Georgia. MyStemKits was invited to exhibit at CTAE STEM EXPO 2018 where the community was invited to discover how CCPS enhances interdisciplinary learning to develop skills for students to solve real-world problems and to make predictions using Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
This event was held on Saturday, March 17, at Mundy’s Mill High School, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. It featured our interactive display as one of the exhibitors. offering an opportunity to engage, inspire and STEMulate students, parents, teachers, businesses and the community. Parents and students enjoyed our presentation, many witnessing the power of a 3D-printer for the first time.
One of the highlights of this experience was to meet Romanieo Nicholas Golphin, Jr., who server as the Global Science Ambassador and STEM Expo Guest Speaker. Our Channel Manager discussed what inspired him in STEM. We are certain that our presence inspired students to think about challenges differently embracing the CCPS CTAE Coordinator’s theme “Think Big. Start Early.”
“We believe that STEMulating your future begins early and we are excited to have Romanieo Nicholas Golphin, Jr., as our guest speaker,” said Dr. Eboni Chillis, CTAE Coordinator. “We really want to give our students STEM experiences to activate interest and authentic learning in STEM and Romanieo Jr. embodies the statement, “Think Big. Start Early.”
